2. Give credit where credit is due
Set up an "appreciation board" with your team.
An appreciation board is a great way to reinforce positive emotions because it's a visible, physical reminder that you can see whenever you come and go from your area. When people actively show gratitude, they intentionally and consciously acknowledge the good in their lives and recognize the origin of that good.
How do we begin? Take a whiteboard of some sort – such as a cork, magnetic or flip chart, sticky notes, some writing tools, and something to keep your items attached to the board. At the beginning, have a short team meeting where everyone writes a thank you note to their colleague(s) for their help or support. On an ongoing basis, you can then use the thank you notes from the board in regular team meetings.
